ABSTRACT

The knowledge of the fundamental characteristics of a chemical reaction is achieved via the measurement of current variations according to the potential applied to the electrode of an electrolysis cell. Voltammetry consits in the experimental determination of the relationship between the current and the electrode potential.Various devices can constitute indicative electrodes. This article deals with the applications of voltammetry with various types of electrodes; the thin layers electrodes, the so called modified electrodes, the graphite paste with electroactive incorporated component electrode, the rotating disk and ring electrode and the ultramicro electrodes.
