Overview
ABSTRACT
After having briefly presented the history of the analysis of works of art, this article focuses on the two revolutions i.e. the booming of a large number of destructive techniques and the introduction of portable instruments (XDF, XRD, IR, Raman, LIBS). The coloring processes and technologies specific to the Arts of Fire (ceramics, glass, metals) provide chronological and technological markers to the study of micro and nanostructures. The Raman microspectrometry, a contactless, portable and non-destructive technique appears to be the most appropriate method.
