chromatography

A group of laboratory techniques for separating out the constituents of a mixture by passing that mixture through a stationary phase.

wastewater-based epidemiology

A new technique based on the analysis of biomarkers for drugs present in urine in wastewater, to estimate the use of those drugs within given populations.

solid-phase extraction

A solid phase extraction method used to isolate one – or a type of – analyte from a solution, or a process which consists in extracting dissolved components from a water sample by adsorption into a solid phase (sorbent).
