1. Introduction
The weathering of heritage materials depends on extrinsic factors linked to the environment (atmosphere, soil, sea water, etc.). In atmospheric environments (multiphase, unsaturated), weathering agents are of both natural and anthropogenic origin. Water, in the form of rain or water vapor, plays a predominant role in weathering processes. It is responsible for the physico-chemical reactions of the material, but also the vector of soluble pollutant species (acids from various gases). In urban environments, air pollution (CO 2 , SO 2 , NO x , particles...) is also one of the predominant causes of glass weathering. All weathering agents have a different role and induce weathering mechanisms whose respective contribution varies.
