8. Conclusions
As we have seen from the epidemiological studies mentioned above, radon risk does exist and must be taken into account. Modelling based on mortality data, and taking into account our knowledge of the dose-effect relationship of radon, has led us to estimate that between 5 and 12% of lung cancer deaths each year in France are attributable to domestic exposure to radon .
