2. Receipt of samples at the laboratory
The laboratory must have a dedicated area for receiving samples taken from contaminated areas. Conditions for their storage pending measurement must also be provided for.
The organization of the reception venue, which can be a temporary structure, must ensure :
staff radiation protection ;
preservation and absence of contamination between samples after collection (cross-contamination);
maintaining laboratory background noise at a level that does not compromise metrological performance through irradiation or contamination.
