6. Conclusion
In France, but also in many other countries, the management of radioactive waste, particularly nuclear waste, is governed by an institutional organization that coordinates the many operations involved, from raw waste to its elimination from the biosphere, where possible. This is due to the intrinsic nature of this waste, which can lead to exposure to ionizing radiation in the short term for workers and the public, and in the long term for future generations.
