Unexpected event or series of events leading to death, injury, loss of system or service, or environmental damage.
Appliance protection class
Hierarchy of equipment protection with regard to protection against indirect contacts. Four classes are defined:
class 0: equipment with main insulation only ;
class I: the equipment has a terminal intended for connection to a protective conductor and main insulation ;
class II: in addition to the main insulation, the equipment has additional insulation or reinforced insulation;
