4. Individual protection
Personal protection concerns the eyes and body. To prevent the skin from interacting with the laser, flame-retardant and radiation-absorbing clothing is the best solution. Masks are required for the face, and gloves for the hands. To avoid burns, hoods and tubes are indispensable. This section focuses on personal eye protection.
4.1 General information and definitions
Glasses are the last line of defence, but they are not absolute protection. Glasses must be worn as soon as irradiation exceeds the EMP. It is not always possible to find glasses that are resistant to incident flux, but they must protect against stray and diffuse radiation.
