2. Measurement uncertainty as a decision-making criterion

Many analysis results are used to make decisions. We want to check whether two processes are equivalent, or whether one is better than the other. We may be interested in declaring the conformity of a product to a regulation, and this declaration will be based on one or more analytical results. In both cases, we examine how uncertainty plays a part in the decision-making process.
