4.1 Legislative texts
Decree no. 2001-1016 of 5/11/2001 requires the assessment of occupational risks (EvRP) for all risks in the workplace. The risks associated with incoherent radiation are no exception to this rule. This means that the employer must carry out, transcribe and retain the results of the luminous risk assessment, and draw up an action plan to reduce them.
For artificial optical radiation (AOR), France has enacted regulations in the form of Decree no. 2010-750 following European Directive 2006/25/EC. This decree concerns the protection of workers against risks arising from AORs in the workplace, namely incoherent artificial radiation (lamps), the subject of this article, and coherent radiation (lasers).
