5. Analysis of the luminous hazard of an incoherent source

What methodology can be used to determine whether light radiation from a source is harmful to a worker's eyes or skin, and what can be done about it?

The first solution is to eliminate the optical source. If a source is present, the most radical but unrealistic solution (because it consumes too much time and resources) is to examine all incoherent sources and compare, at any point in space, whether an individual is subject to this risk. If the individual is likely to be subject to the lighting risk, we propose the measures to be implemented. A more realistic solution is to confine the radiation to an enclosure. This attractive solution only makes sense if applied to dangerous sources, unless the precautionary principle is applied.
