4. Innovation challenges
The challenges of innovation in numerical simulation are numerous, as the improvement of numerical models is a continuous process, driven both by the demands of users and by the results of research undertaken in various disciplines (applied mathematics, modeling, computer science, etc.).
In what follows, we give a few examples of interest to the naval field, on the one hand, by mentioning certain innovations that help to improve models (in terms of accuracy or execution of simulations), and, on the other, by showing how simulation uses innovations from various fields of digital technology (such as machine learning).
