An international review of experience carried out in 2011-2012 identified and studied over 30 cases in North America, Europe, Africa and Asia : 21 industrial port sites were visited, 31 cases of port industrial symbiosis were analyzed and over 70 stakeholders (industrialists, elected representatives, port authorities, etc.) were interviewed.
