Traditionally, when we talk about the factors involved in the diffusion of a technology on a market or in a society, the notions of cost, quality, reliability, performance, practicality of use and even aesthetics are cited first. These are the well-known elements on which the engineer acts, hoping to make the technological proposal acceptable to users. But all these elements are not enough to explain the dynamics of the diffusion of certain technologies. A more global approach is needed to understand this dynamic.
