6. Workshop remodeling
6.1 Context
Remodeling (or retrofitting) involves adapting an existing production facility to a new environment. In general, it involves an increase in demand for one or all of the products produced, or the inclusion of a new product to be manufactured. It leads to the determination of the workshop configuration capable of coping with the new conditions, taking into account the resources available in the existing workshop. In practice, this involves determining the number and size of pieces of equipment to be added to the initial workshop, in order to ensure the new production.
