Tests carried out by the CFA (Comité français des aérosols) [3] and LEREM (Laboratoire d'études et de recherches sur les emballages métalliques) in 1993 demonstrated that aerosol dispensers packaged in steel or aluminum containers present no danger and can be treated as ordinary household waste in recycling processes.

Montreal Protocol (entry into force 1 January 1989): within the framework of the Vienna Convention, the Montreal Protocol, adopted on September 16 1987 and ratified by 31 countries, including France, regulates the production, sale and trade of CFCs and products containing them.
