4. Conclusion
Spatial analysis for epidemiology offers elements to consolidate "classic" epidemiology and to feed research and model parameterization. Descriptive spatial analysis includes cartographic analysis, the search for geometric and spatio-temporal characteristics, the analysis of the spatial variability of a value, the search for aggregates, the search for analysis and synthesis scales, the search for environmental correlations, and so on. Explanatory spatial analysis is essentially statistical, with the search for statistical models including spatial relationships between individuals.
In the health sector, spatial analysis also plays a role in public policy, with the development of new applications in public health: warning systems, crisis management systems, prevention and risk analysis systems, preparation of vaccination campaigns, surveys and polls.
