7. Image-guided therapy
Imaging-guided therapy is an essential step towards personalized therapy, i.e. tailoring treatment to individual patients. Numerous examples described in the literature show that by controlling the size, morphology and functionalization of gold nanoparticles, it is possible to design nanostructures that combine imaging and therapy, as seen above.
