1.1 Which measurement tool for which application?
If we restrict ourselves to non-invasive means of measurement, the simplest tool for analyzing movement is the digital camcorder, coupled with the use of video analysis software enabling automatic or semi-automatic tracking of targets (stuck on the skin opposite points of interest), and the measurement of angles (in the image plane perpendicular to the camera axis) or distances (after calibration using the image of an object of known size). The use of several camcorders enables shot-by-shot analysis. This solution has the advantage of being both very simple to implement and inexpensive, but remains dedicated to the global analysis of movements (for example, in the case of sporting gestures, in situ ), as the accuracy of the results...
