Ennoblissement ; Finishing
The process of ennobling a textile, i.e. imparting properties to it; most often carried out using chemical products (to obtain a fluid feel, a particular color, flame-retardant or antimicrobial properties, for example); but physical means can also be used to ennoble a fabric: by passing a fabric between two rollers under pressure, we can give the fabric a glossy, shiny appearance, for example.
Foulardage ; Padding
A chemical finishing process that deposits a chemical product or even microcapsules on the fiber surface.
