3.1 Potential contribution of a CSR to participative innovation
The potential contributions of a CSR to participative innovation are numerous, but they all contribute to moving the approach from a restricted participative approach to a truly open collaborative one.
The "classic" participative innovation approach, or at least the historical one, is a participative approach that can be described as restricted insofar as employees' ideas are passed directly to managers or an ad hoc committee. These ideas are not visible to other potential contributors. It's only once the ideas have been applied and implemented that they become visible to everyone.
