2. Original process for dimensionally stabilizing wood

2.1 Principle

After several years' research into dimensional stabilization of wood, the ARC-Nucléart laboratory (CEA-Grenoble) has come up with a non-reactive treatment based on simple wood impregnation.

The principle of the treatment is to replace the bound water in the swollen state of the wood with an external resin that, unlike water, cannot evaporate.
