5. Conclusion
The concepts presented in this first dossier provide a better understanding of wood combustion in terms of emissions. It appears that the main difficulties are linked to emissions of unburnt gases and solids: while CO emissions have been significantly reduced in recent years with the introduction of action plans (Flamme verte label, tax credit, ADEME research projects, etc.), emissions of particles and PAHs in particular (VOCs to a lesser extent) now need to be studied in order to develop technologies to reduce their emissions.
