3. Properties of ultra-refractory ceramics
3.1 Mechanical and thermomechanical properties
Ultra-refractory ceramics have high mechanical properties, which differ according to whether they are solid or composite. Table 2 shows Young's modulus and flexural strength values for various ultra-refractory ceramics . It can be seen that these mechanical properties decrease with increasing temperature.
