2. Where and why tempered laminated glass is used
The market for tempered laminated glass has grown rapidly since the early 2000s, despite a dip in 2010/2011 due to the effects of the 2008 financial crisis. What accounts for this growth?
The first reason is safety-related, and directly affects the responsibility of specifiers in the event of a claim. Tempered laminated glass will enable us to push back the service limit states (behavior before breakage "ELS") of glass, as well as the ultimate service states (behavior after breakage "ELU"), and thus satisfy safety of use and European (CPD) and national regulations. It should be remembered that annealed and toughened glass are not considered safety glass by building codes.
