3. Fabric data sheets
The basic technical data sheet for a fabric can be defined by the parameters relating to the warp and weft yarns, as well as the fabric's own parameters
In order to produce a complete fabric data sheet that can be used by the weaver, an analysis process must be applied to identify the parameters required to define the fabric. This analysis can follow the NF ISO 2959 standard. In absolute terms, the particularities of textile materials (flexibility, hygroscopicity, variability) mean that this analysis must be carried out in accordance with metrology standards in terms of conditioning, testing (NF EN ISO 139) and sampling (NF EN 12751).
The suggested procedure applies to all types of fabric: woven and jacquard. However, for jacquard fabrics, a few additional steps may be required to identify the jacquard pattern and determine the pattern connections....
