3. Nanotextile applications
Textiles incorporating nanotechnologies are already on the consumer market. However, measuring the exact size of the market is very complex. They are estimated to represent a market of around 13 billion euros in 2007. which should have increased tenfold in 2012. The figures more recently published by Trends Market Research are lower: an estimated 4.6 billion euros in 2019, with growth still expected. Analysts are forecasting 13.3 billion euros in 2024. The difficulty in estimating market size stems from the lack of communication from suppliers, who now emphasize functionality rather than technology. Commercial communication around nanotechnologies is less and less emphasized.
