6. Conclusion

6.1 Acquis de la modélisation

Modeling textile fiber manufacturing processes helps us to understand the phenomena observed, and enables us to draw some broad conclusions.

On the one hand, the models we have developed provide relevant orders of magnitude for the physical quantities of textile spinning in different experimental situations, despite the restrictive assumptions on which they are based. In this way, we can estimate drawing forces and quantify strain rates. These models demonstrate the existence of very high elongational stresses for certain values of process parameters (throughput, draw ratio and draw length).
