3.1 Permanent magnets – Magnetic circuits

Two main types of ferromagnetic materials can be distinguished: hard ferromagnetics and soft ferromagnetics. Hard ferromagnets have very open hysteresis cycles, with a strong coercive field and high remanence. Soft ferromagnets, on the other hand, have a shallow hysteresis cycle with a low coercive field.
