When it comes to sound and vibration insulation, non-communicating cell foams generally offer the most interesting characteristics.
5.1 Phonic
The sound absorption coefficient indicates the amount of sound energy absorbed by the material. A material with an absorption coefficient of 0.9 absorbs 90% of sound, corresponding to a 10 dB change in sound level. Closed-cell foams have the best characteristics in this respect (figure
