3. Conclusion

Electrochemical kinetics is a fast-growing discipline, as the storage of electricity using high-performance batteries is a major societal concern. In the field of electrolysis, electrochemical processes for the recovery of carbon dioxide are envisaged, and electrolytic production at lower energy costs is required. To achieve this, new processes need to be developed or existing ones improved. Here are a few promising prospects:

  • the development of electrodes with improved catalytic properties. For example, boron-doped diamond is a new material of choice for electroanalysis or electrolysis (particularly in the field of industrial wastewater treatment)
