6. Conclusion

The use of corrosion inhibitors in water circuits remains a necessity due to the variety and quality of resources available for ever more varied industrial uses.

Today, however, the range of effective products that can be used is becoming increasingly limited, as more and more attention is being paid to the impact of these inhibitors when they are eventually released into the environment.

However, the legislation governing these releases, as well as those relating to the handling of these inhibitors, now take precedence over the notion of efficacy. The latter is also conditioned by the price/performance ratio, which has become a very important aspect, as efficacy is no longer the sole criterion of choice.
