3. Finishes

First, the crystals can be tinted black with very fluid varnishes using alcohol or chlorinated solvents. This is followed by an inhibited mineral oil, lanolin or wax finish.

Oils, fats and corrosion inhibitors emulsified in water can also be used; the water must then be removed by steaming in hot air (around 100°C).
