7. Adsorption of silver cyanide on activated carbon

Activated carbon is used to recover gold and silver from cyanide leach solutions. However, for identical concentrations of gold and silver complexes, there is a real selectivity of adsorption, as shown by the curves in figure 3[7] . Silver is less well bound than gold.
