2. Development prospects
The recycling of ferrous products, a natural and already industrialized process due to the existence of an electric steel production industry (2nd fusion), after having been caught up and then integrated by the more general context of sustainable development affecting all materials and industrial activities using them, is now being caught up again by the more recent context of the circular economy. These changes in society's approach to environmental issues represent real opportunities for metallic materials in general, which have long experience in this field, and for ferrous materials in particular, which account for the largest volume.
Lastly, the recycling sector, in which ferrous products play an important role, now offers strong potential for economic activity and is a source of creativity and employment.
