2. Recycling
Precious metals recycling (see article ) is not affected by the environmental imperative that political authorities are increasingly placing on base metals. The value of precious metals is sufficiently high that there is no need for government incentives to recycle them.
Residues containing platinoids vary in composition and quality. As a result, waste processing plants are necessarily very flexible. Often, recovery operations are included in sales contracts for finished and semi-finished products, so that used materials, going directly to the recoverers, do not appear on the market.
