6. Recovery processes

Hydrometallurgy is the almost universal process for treating by-products such as residues, dusts, slags and intermediate products containing indium.

In general, pyrometallurgy is a set of processes that preconcentrate indium in its by-products.

Consequently, indium recovery processes are complex and yields are often low. What's more, the number of publications concerning them is very small, and details are generally sketchy.
