A liquid extractive metallurgy method involving the dissolving of various metals contained in an ore or concentrate, with a view to their separation and recovery.
A typical hydrometallurgical process comprises the following steps:
leaching (or dissolution),
metal separation,
recovery of the desired metal (by electrolysis, filtration, etc.).
