3. Energy savings

To deal with this aspect of the evolution of energy requirements for the various processes and branches of the steel industry and, above all, with prospective aspects, we will base ourselves :

• on the one hand, on the development of the most important processes in steel production, particularly those that consume the most energy;

• the most recent IISI studies .

These latest studies have led to the definition of :

• EcoTech processes, which are based on the best current techniques and are already economically profitable;
