Prepainted sheet steel consists of two basic elements:

  • support metal ;

  • the paint system.

1.1 Support steels

The base metal is selected according to the following criteria:

  • processing: bending, profiling, stamping, etc. ;

  • exposure: indoors, outdoors, aggressive environments, humidity... ;

  • functionality: the need for precise mechanical characteristics, non-ageing, fatigue resistance, resistance to high or low temperatures, etc.
