1. Abrasive

Selecting an abrasive requires knowledge of the nature of the substrate and its mechanical characteristics, the shape and dimensions of the part to be stripped (dimensional tolerances) and the surface finish required after treatment (roughness). The subsequent surface treatment of the part and the blasting medium are also decisive factors in the choice of abrasive media.

The material to be sprayed can be defined according to a number of criteria, including but not limited to [62][63][64][65][66] .
