2. Zn-X codeposits
Contrary to what the values of the standard potentials of the metal couples considered (Table 1 ) might suggest, zinc, with the lowest standard potential, is preferentially deposited under most electrodeposition conditions. The electrodeposition of Zn-X alloyed zincs, with X = Fe, Co, Ni, is therefore classified as anomalous codeposition. This type of electrodeposition has been widely described in the literature
