1. Materials used

1.1 Description of a salt bath treatment line

It includes in succession :

  • a load preparation station: wire-tied or arranged on fixtures or in baskets;

  • a preheating chamber; in the case of gas-heated carburizing furnaces, the combustion gases are recovered and circulated in the preheating cell;

  • the carburizing bath, consisting of a refractory steel crucible heated externally by electric resistors or gas burners. Temperature control is based on information provided by two pyrometric rods located in the bath and in the heating zone;

  • the pre-quench levelling bath (if justified), also known as the rinsing bath, designed to eliminate salts...
