4. Conclusion

Newly-developed wire-drawing techniques now enable the industrial manufacture of extremely fine copper wires, coated or uncoated, with diameters down to 15 µm.

Without being fundamentally different from conventional wire drawing, drawing ultra-fine wires nevertheless requires more rigorous control of process parameters and more precise adjustment of hardware components to avoid problems associated with the low mechanical strength due to the small diameter of these wires.

In full development, these techniques will see significant progress in the near future.
