3. Determination of refractory systems

The determination of these systems is analogous to that of fully moulded sand fillers, with or without in-mould filtration. ; however, the calculation of their pressure losses is a little more complex.

3.1 Estimated pressure losses and B coefficient

We have already seen with moulded systems that pressure losses are of two kinds:

  • regular head losses, which are proportional to the length of the pipes ;

  • local or singular losses.
