4.1 Reducing consumption

Reducing water consumption is always preferable to treating wastewater. Solutions that reduce the volume of water used include :

  • the use of dry dedusting techniques to treat off-gases,

  • elimination of open-circuit cooling,

  • in-house water recycling using appropriate technologies.
