3. Environment and sustainable development in the foundry
Environmental regulations are evolving rapidly, and the proliferation of texts makes it difficult for foundries to adapt to them. Only a proactive approach can turn constraints into opportunities, or at least minimize them. To achieve this, it is necessary to acquire a strategic vision of the potential benefits of a sustainable production approach (financial, environmental and social return on investment), while preserving social and economic aspects in an acceptable way.
For foundries, commitment to a sustainable development approach is an opportunity to structure actions that enable the company to control costs, better satisfy customers, invest more effectively, involve staff in a new work dynamic, and give a better image to customers and neighbors.
