1. Formatting

1.1 Boilermaking

As aluminum and its alloys are easy to shape, the machines used do not differ significantly from those used for steel.

On the other hand, the tools to be used are not the same for aluminum and steel: in particular, the low surface hardness of aluminum alloys must be taken into account, and the risk of pollution by traces of ferrous and cuprous metals, which could cause local corrosion, must be avoided.
