2. Structures of cast aluminum alloys

The properties of cast aluminum alloys depend mainly on their structures, a term we use here in a broad sense. These structures depend on 4 main groups of factors, which we will briefly describe below. Given the absence of solid-state transformation during cooling, the solidification parameters acting on these structures are particularly important.
